Bergen Katedralskole har lange tradisjoner. Det antas at skolen ble grunnlagt i 1153 av kardinal Brekespear, den seinere pave Hadrian IV. Fram til ca 1800 var skolen nær knyttet til kirken. Den skulle forberede elevene på prestestudiet. Etter 1800 har skolen vært et ordinært gymnas, og i dag er skolen en rein allmennfaglig skole. Les mer om Bergen Katedralskole

Bergen Katedralskole har deltatt i Holbergprisen i skolen siden prosjektets oppstart i 2004. I år deltar to klasser fra 3. trinnet med religion som overordnet tema. Elevene er delt inn i mange ulike grupper og har forskjellige innfallsvinkler til "Hvordan praktiserer ulike religionssamfunn troen sin her i Norge?"

Lærere for deltagerklassene er Johnny Tobiassen og Audun Løvvik.
